An armor set in Legacy Edition is a yellow named family worn across six slots on one hero: head, shoulders, body, gloves, leggings, and boots. The Well-arrayed achievement depends on the shared family name, not six unrelated yellow items. Preserve possible pieces early, keep them grouped by hero and family, and equip all six together when the collection is complete.

Read the family name before the armor value
Open the item detail and separate four facts: hero restriction, slot, attribute requirement, and named family. Color alone does not prove two pieces match. Similar-looking equipment may belong to different families, while a visually modest piece may be the final slot of the correct set.
Create a mental inventory such as “Farin family A: body, gloves, boots” instead of “three yellow pieces.” At a hub, inspect all three heroes before selling. A piece currently carried by Eradan may be intended for Farin, and an AI companion’s equipped slot may hide the part you thought was missing.
Do not discard a duplicate immediately. Compare requirements and bonuses; keep the better copy and verify that the other is genuinely redundant. Normal inventory management is safer than moving files or manipulating saves for another shop roll.
Balance set hunting with campaign survival
A complete family can support later difficulty, but the achievement does not require wearing inferior partial pieces during a dangerous chapter. Use the strongest practical armor while collecting the family in reserve. Equip the full six only at a safe hub, verify the unlock, then decide whether its combined value fits the campaign build.
Meet Stamina or other displayed requirements for the set you actually intend to use. Do not spend attributes for a single weak part merely because it is yellow. The right threshold is tied to a coherent family or a major defensive upgrade.
Preserve useful elf-stones until the final armor choice is stable. Socketing a temporary part can waste a scarce improvement. Read the live effect and confirm which piece receives it before committing.
Use merchants without turning travel into guesswork
Current Legacy Edition completion guidance recommends checking merchants in Bree, Sarn Ford, Rivendell, and Nordinbad during the Legendary cleanup. Travel between hubs normally and inspect the appropriate hero inventory at each shop. Stock is reported to refresh through travel, but the exact appearance of a missing piece remains loot-dependent.
Keep a six-slot checklist. Mark a slot only after reading the exact family name. If the body piece is missing, scan body armor first rather than buying every yellow item. Sell ordinary surplus to maintain silver, but retain the campaign weapon and recovery supply.
Exit a merchant cleanly and allow normal saving. If stock does not change after travel, continue the campaign or retry later instead of forcing rapid shutdowns during Steam Cloud activity.
Trade a missing part carefully in co-op
Current player evidence reports that traded armor can count for Well-arrayed. Before a trade, both players should confirm the item, intended recipient, family, and slot. The recipient then equips all six matching pieces on the same hero and waits for the game and Steam achievement state to update.
Do not infer that a guest owns an item because the host sees it on the ground. Confirm pickup through the guest’s inventory. If only one account unlocks, record host and guest roles and retry through normal play rather than duplicating or editing inventory data.
Return borrowed equipment only after the achievement state is visible and a checkpoint is stable. A disconnect during a handoff creates uncertainty about ownership.
Diagnose a set that does not unlock
Re-read every family name, especially punctuation or similar prefixes. Confirm exactly six occupied armor slots and that all are on one hero rather than spread across companions. Remove and re-equip the complete family at a quiet hub, then wait for the normal Steam notification.
Check that Steam is online and that Legacy Edition AppID 2523770 is the running product. The original AppID 32800 and its DLC identifiers are outside this guide. If the set remains valid but the achievement does not register, capture the six item screens and current app state for Aspyr support.
